Types of elevators

Elevators can be divided into two groups – electric and hydraulic. Both types can be installed with or without engine-room, based on the available space in the building/apartment.

Electric elevators

Electric elevators are operated by electric motor, with or without reducer, via driving rope and portable cables.
There are numerous types of installation:

• Elevators with engine-room
• Elevators without engine-room
• Two-speed elevators
• Elevators with regulated spinning of electric motor

The standard speed of electric elevators is 1,0 meters per second, but for high buildings and buildings with excessive transport elevators with higher speed are used ( 1,6 meters per second and higher).
